Yorkshire Specialist Coatings worked with Halifax Glass, providing bespoke glass panels for the new Wagamama restaurant in the brand new London Designer Outlet in Wembley.
The London Designer Outlet is positioned adjacent to the Wembley Stadium & Wembley Arena and is home to the new Wagamama restaurant.
The Wagamama story began in 1992 with the opening of the first restaurant in London’s Bloomsbury.
Inspired by traditional Japanese noodle bars and Asian flavours, they have evolved into an award-winning chain with over 100 restaurants in 16 countries around the world.
Yorkshire Specialist Coatings were appointed by Halifax Glass to Back-Paint a number of large 10mm & 12mm thick toughened glass panels, utilising AVKO’s specially formulated glass paint Avkote GP, sheets of glass up to 10 feet wide and 8 feet high were painted Graphite Black in line with the Wagamama theme.
This particular project proved challenging due to the shear size of some of the glass sheets, the actual Back-Painting process was a breeze, it was getting the sheets into the spray booth that was the difficult part, weighing in at around a quarter of a ton, the 10’ x 8’ sheets required all hands on deck to transport the glass from the delivery vehicle into the spray booth and back again once painted, we were pleased to see all the glass painting completed and safely on its way to Wembley.
Avkote GP glass paint was used, this is a highly durable, especially fast drying, Satin 2K coating for Glass with very good weathering characteristics and good resistance to chemicals and mechanical abrasion, the colour specified was chosen from the RAL Classic Range
